We are very proud to support Pontypridd’s significant Welsh speaking community with Welsh language gifts and cards and we are so grateful to Welsh speakers who keep coming back and telling us why they love our shop. They appreciate our wide range and lovely selection of cards particularly as Welsh language cards can be hard to come by, quite repetitive and limited in titles. They tell us that we provide great value and that they can find beautiful, traditional, charming, funny and quirky cards as they require them.

We also sell Welsh language cards to those who don’t speak a word of Welsh. It can be a lovely gesture to send a card in Cymraeg if the recipient’s first language is Welsh/Cymraeg and it shows care to take the time to find the right card. Most of our Welsh language cards have translations on the back for your convenience and some of our staff may be able to advise should you need assistance. We have cards in Welsh/Cymraeg for most occasions so for those times, happy or sad, when delivering a message in the mother language will go a long way to letting someone know how much they are loved. we hope we can provide the perfect card in Welsh just as in English.

We have new cards in regularly and stock a number of companies including independent designers. We have very recently received a large delivery with lots of new designs so if you pop by this month, you’ll probably discover plenty of new options. It’s not just ‘Penblwydd hapus’ either, we have lots of choice in ‘diolch’ (thank you), ‘cydymdeimlad’ (sympathy), ‘llongyfarchiadau’ (congratulations), ‘priodas’ (wedding), ‘babi newydd’ (new baby) and more.

Whilst it’s not too hard to find a birthday card in Cymraeg/Welsh, many shops are now selling standard cards in ‘Penblwydd hapus’, it can be difficult to find a choice of cards for relations, especially with our many words for Grandad/Tadcu, and all too often age cards in Welsh can be limited to one design in other shops. Among our Penblwydd cards however, we have Bampi, Brawd, Mab, young and old, Mamgu, Nain, Anti, Chwaer, ffrind, oed 1-18 and older, gwraig, gwr or cariad, some heartfelt, some funny, and much more. And if you can’t find a card on the stand, then let us know and we’ll try our best to find one before you come again.
