We sell a fantastic range of Saint David’s Day cards, novelties and costumes at our shop in Pontypridd Market and now also online. It is a common tradition in schools across Wales for children to dress up for photographs before Saint David’s Day. We have all the bits you need for boys and girls celebrating their nation.

More and more of customers like to send a card, a gift or both to family on Saint David’s Day, especially if they live abroad or in another part of the UK. We stock a selection of Welsh-themed gifts all year round and we have cards in English and Welsh language.

Traditional Welsh Dress

If there’s one particular thing we associate with St David’s Day in Wales it’s the Welsh national dress, the costumes we all wore as schoolchildren for our annual Saint David’s Day photographs. Although the feast day of Dewi Sant falls on the first of March, it’s usually February when these photos are taken so don’t delay in ordering your child’s costume.

Our traditional costume for girls start at age 12-18 months for £18.99 and go up to age 12 for £21.99. Hats are sold separately for £3.99. If you only require a pinny, we have small for £3.50 and large for £3.99, plus we have shawls from £5.99.

Whilst some boys prefer to wear a Welsh rugby top the traditional checkered waistcoat is still our favourite for handsome boys. The full outfit, which includes waistcoat, cap and bow tie is sold from our online shop or you can buy separate items by messaging us on socials or popping in. Dai caps are £4.99 for 3-6 mo and 6-12 mo, £5.99 up to age 7 and £6.99 up to age 11. Waistcoats start at £6.50 for 3-6 mo and 6-12 mo and go up to £7.99 for age 11.

Whether you need for a photo or for supporting Wales at the rugby, these lovely high quality rugby jerseys start at 0-6 mo (£11.99). They also come in age 1-2, age 2-3, XS boys, small, medium, large boys and XL boys for £13.99. These are available to order from our online store as well as in our shop.

There’s plenty of choice in Welsh novelty headwear at Sugar and Spice. We have dragon and daffodil headgear for £10.99 perfect for wearing along to support Wales in any sport. Bucket hats start at £7.99.

Flags and Bunting

We sell Welsh flags and bunting for most of the year. Sizes can vary but we currently have bunting in stock approximately 10m across with 30 Welsh flags for £3.99.

Flags on sticks start at 60p each. Flags measuring 2ft by 3ft are £2.99. Larger flags are 3ft by 5ft for £3.99
