Whether you’re Ponty born and bred or visiting our town for the first time, you’ll find many beautiful things at Sugar and Spice in Pontypridd’s Market Quarter to keep a memory of Pontypridd forever. With the National Eisteddfod of Wales returning to Pontypridd for the first time since 1893, what better opportunity could there be to make a life memory in Ponty and take a memento home.
We have a large range of souvenirs, gifts, postcards and greetings cards with options in Welsh and English languages. See below for a selection or call in to see everything we offer.

Pontypridd was the hometown of poet Evan James who wrote the Welsh national anthem ‘Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau’ set to music by his son harpist James James. The song, originally called Glan Rhondda in reference to one of the rivers that flows into Ponty, was first performed by another Pontypridd resident before its popularity spread in part thanks to the National Eisteddfod of Wales. We have a selection of mugs, coasters and magnets that celebrate Ponty’s connection to our anthem.

The old bridge built in the 18th century by William Edwards is one of Ponty’s most recognisable landmarks. It is an icon of Pontypridd and a grade I listed scheduled ancient monument.

We are proud that Pontypridd is hosting the Eisteddfod this year. We have commissioned some special designs that are exclusive to Sugar and Spice to mark the momentous occasion.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously in these South Wales Valleys. These tongue-in-cheek gifts are perfect for those from Ponty, the Rhondda valley or Wales more broadly.
